La Castagniccia and le Monte San Pedrone

La Castagniccia is famous for the herds of pigs that roam its lush countryside and takes its name from the dense forests of chestnut trees (castagna). The Monte San Petrone, the highest and loveliest peak of the Castagniccia region, offers you a marvellous panorama of the Corsican mountains and the verdant rolling slopes of “the Little Chestnut Wood”. The view stretches from Cinto to Rotondo and also includes the east coast as well as Cap Corse
